Closing Event and Recognition of the Passport to Integrity Programme

In a context where corruption is so detrimental to economic prosperity and social development, initiatives such as the "Passport to Integrity: Good Business for your Company" programme are more crucial than ever: they empower and provide small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and state-owned enterprises (SOEs) with the tools and support they need to succeed in implementing an integrity agenda.

On the International Anti-Corruption Day, we will celebrate the end of the Passport to Integrity with a closing event and recognition of the 14 participating companies.  The initiative was designed by Alliance for Integrity and implemented by AHK Argentina with the support of Global Compact Network Argentina. The main objective was to strengthen integrity practices and compliance in SMEs and SOEs in the development of their integrity programmes. To this end, the participating companies have focused on one of the four objectives:

(I) Participate in bids;

(II) Improve conditions for access to financing;

(III) Be a supplier to multinational companies;

(IV) Comply with good governance standards.

The programme was conceived as a complement to the anti-corruption training programme of the Alliance for Integrity "De Empresas para Empresas" (DEPE).

Throughout the initiative, participants have put into practice several lessons. They had to fulfill different points of an integrity programme, according to the category they were registered. First, a risk analysis of the companies was carried out, and then the companies created or revised their code of ethics and conducted a training for employees. In the next stage, specific processes were implemented on issues such as relations with public officials, transparency in purchases and sales, gifts and hospitality, and conflicts of interest. Also, participants implemented a due diligence process and a reporting channel. Finally, the companies conducted a self-assessment and sent the results obtained and the success story form to Alliance for Integrity.

The event is exclusively for the participants of the Passport of the Integrity programme and for Alliance for Integrity's DEPE Trainers.
