The Regional Working Group Latin America brings together compliance experts from the region to interact, share and exchange knowledge on compliance best practices in order to promote business integrity in the ecosystem. The Working Group seeks to develop solutions and compliance measures, to share lessons learnt and to promote the application of good practices from one country to another.
The Working Group consists of representatives from the public and private sectors as well as civil society of eight Latin American countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay and Uruguay. It serves as regional platform to strengthen public-private dialogues on anti-corruption and transparency as well as a safe space for open exchange on local laws and regulations and their impact on the current framework conditions in the neighbouring countries. In all these exchanges, the Working Group develops practical solutions to challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that are part of the value chain.
In 2020, the Group was named after the Latin American collective action launched by the Alliance for Integrity in 2018 with the same name: Aliados por la Integridad.
The Working Group meets three times a year, twice remotely and once face-to-face. The face-to-face meetings rotate from country to country, trying to coincide with other events where most members are present, for example the regional and global conferences of the Alliance for Integrity. The initiative leads the group, organises the meetings and proposes the topics to be discussed, always counting on the contributions and suggestions of the members.
