Steering Committee discusses future plans of the Alliance for Integrity

On 29 June, the Alliance for Integrity held its fourth global Steering Committee Meeting since the official launch. The meeting took place in the rooms of German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Dirk Schwenzfeier, commissioner for the private sector and local authorities, BMZ, gave a warm welcome and discussed, together with the Steering Committee, the relevance of the Agenda 2030 and the important role of the private sector in promoting integrity and transparency. The Secretariat of the Alliance for Integrity provided a review on achieved goals and selected highlights of the first six months in 2017. The members of the Steering Committee all agreed that the Alliance for Integrity succeeded in establishing itself as a global network in the last two years.

Moreover, the members discussed the initiative’s future and made recommendations for further plans in the next few years.

The Steering Committee is comprised of representatives from the private sector, the public sector, the civil society as well as representatives of international organisations. It meets twice a year to provide strategic guidance for the Alliance for Integrity’s operations.

Members of the Steering Committee include representatives from the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), the Federation of German Industries (BDI), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the German Global Compact Network, Merck KGaA, Public Procurement Authority-Ghana, PT Asuransi Allianz Life Indonesia, SAP SE, Seegos, Siemens Brasil, Transparency International Deutschland e.V., the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
