Members of the Alliance for Integrity’s Advisory Group Ghana have made input into ongoing processes to define a future for the initiative. This was part of the activities undertaken at the 9th meeting of the Advisory Group Ghana held in Accra.
Welcoming participants, Ronke Ampiah, Pricing, Market Access and Government Affairs Director - North & West Africa at Merck Sarl, who is also the Advisory Group Ghana Chairperson of the Alliance for Integrity, commended her colleagues for their support and commitment to the initiative over the years. She was of the view that the activities undertaken by the Alliance for Integrity since the last Advisory Group meeting including various dialogue sessions on topical issues in integrity and the hosting of a session at the 3rd German-African Business Summit pointed to a growing network in Ghana.
Participants reviewed past activities and made input to planned activities to be undertaken in the course of the year, which include the rollout of capacity building workshops for new sectors and the implementation of new formats to address gender-related challenges in corruption prevention.
Looking into the future, the Advisory Group made contributions on how the Alliance for Integrity can be positioned to make bigger impact and be self-sustaining as part of the initiative’s Vision 2025.
Amongst other desired outcomes, participants envisaged the Alliance for Integrity as a sounding board for integrity issues whilst attracting increased partners and supporters around the world and being self-sustaining. As part of next steps, the outcome of the discussions will be channelled into the global processes for the development of the impact vision, implementation strategy and business plan for the Alliance for Integrity.
Raymond Ahiadorme, Network Manager Ghana of the Alliance for Integrity, assured participants of the initiative’s commitment to implementing the Advisory Group’s recommendations to ensure the continuous growth of the network.
Other participants of the Advisory Group meeting were from the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice, Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition, Ghana Centre for Democratic Development, Ghana Integrity Initiative, Global Compact Network Ghana, Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited, National Board for Small Scale Industries, Public Procurement Authority, and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
