Jakarta (Indonesia)

Alliance for Integrity’s anti-corruption training DUKU is getting more well-recognized in Indonesia’s business scene. Another such course was offered on 3 October 2023 directly at the business and economic center of Indonesia, Jakarta. Collaborating with Transparency International Indonesia, the International Chamber of Commerce Indonesia and BNI Xpora, this training was attended by over 30 business practitioners with a minimum prior knowledge on integrity from different entrepreneurial sectors – most of them exporters.

The one-day training provided them with knowledge on the legal framework interconnected with corruption, especially the different types of corruption acts. The participants also learned that the wide scope defined corruption should not limit their capability to be aware in acknowledging any possibility of legal sanctions which they might face. Another key take-away was that corruption prevention is a managerial and collaborative responsibility and will only be successful if fully implemented by the company and through collaboration with other companies.

This training was also offered with several practical scenarios and group work to know corruption in practice. The participants discussed and shared their knowledge, opinions, perspectives, and experiences. The overall feedback on the DUKU training was very good. Pak Ferdian Yazid from Alliance for Integrity’s partner organization Transparency International Indonesia opened the event. He summarized the training afterwards. “This course is really helpful in creating a clean business ecosystem and increasing business competitiveness for Indonesian business practitioners.” Many of the course participants requested to have a follow-up training session, especially with government representatives, and to set up a peer-group exchange.
