The workshop will be coordinated by Transparency International's Head of Business Integrity, Katya Bechel, and will feature speakers from both private and public sectors.

23rd October | 4:30-6:30pm

The Alliance for Integrity will be co-organising a workshop entitled Corruption and Private Sector: Entry Points and Building Coalitions with Civil Society along with representatives from the World Bank and the Basel Institute on Governance. This session will focus on new and evolving approaches to addressing corruption in the context of private sector development, building upon recent analytical work and operational experience.

The session will present three distinct perspectives on confronting corruption and private sector development:
1- reducing elite capture of economic growth;
2- tackling corruption in large-scale investment projects; and
3 -strengthening returns on improved governance in investment markets.
For each area, the panel will explore how civil society can support and participate in changing practices, behaviors, and outcomes. Particular topics will include identifying and confronting regulatory capture, implementation of integrity compliance programs, and integrating corruption risks in the pricing of investments.
