Gender-specific attitudes towards corruption may not be universal, but they are typical for the culture or context in which they are embedded. In the business world, women are still regarded as newcomers and are less familiar with the rules of illegal transactions. Gender-specific prejudices and stereotypes can also have a disproportionate impact on women. Therefore, corruption is becoming an obstacle for them in obtaining financial resources, for example in accessing credits and doing business. Women generally lack the information, experience and resources to deal confidently with corrupt networks, which makes them more vulnerable to bribes and further limits their opportunities to succeed in their businesses.
Another important aspect when we talk about gender and corruption is the integration of a gender perspective in anti-corruption efforts. Compliance management systems need to implement a gender perspective, considering the respective impact on both, women and men. Women are crucial actors in the fight against corruption. Therefore, the Vyapaar Se Vyapaar Ko corruption prevention training seeks to deepen the knowledge on the topic by sharing best practices and existing information on the link between gender and integrity. The training programme aims at establishing a level playing field between women and men. In this training, relevant issues on the topic will be discussed and put on the agenda of female entrepreneurs in India. Participants will be encouraged to get engaged. Additionally, the programme provides a safe space for the exchange with compliance experts.
Many questions arise only when implementing corruption prevention measures into practice. This is why the Alliance for Integrity has developed a support structure. After the training programme, participants gain access to an online support desk that provides expert answers to practical questions on the implementation of corruption prevention measures within 72 hours.
The training programme is divided into four modules. Each module will take 120 minutes. The training programme starts on Friday, 07 May 2021 and ends on Friday, 04 June 2021, from 16:00 to 18:00 (GMT+5:30). Attendance in all modules is required for completing the training. The training is carried out in English language.
