Evening Event: Compliance in International Business

Compliance plays an important role in the international business environment considering the global value chain. This has made regulating authorities, business partners and consumers to raise high demands on integrity and transparency in their economic activities. To this effect, compliance management systems and codes of conducts are well established in international businesses and by extension to their supply chain. However, there is no standard model applicable to all businesses particularly for SMEs facing challenges.

The event aims to address the following questions:

• How can enterprises assess and improve their compliance system?
• What challenges do large enterprises face in terms of compliance? 
• On what should medium-sized enterprises focus on in order to make progress?
• Are companies responsible for their supply chain?
  

Carolina Echevarria, Alliance for Integrity, is introducing the topic and presenting The Integrity App, followed by a panel talk on compliance in international business.

Who should attend?

The event is opened to anyone interested in the topic, particularly representatives of SMEs that are short on experience concerning compliance. There will be opportunities to exchange lessons learnt with other representatives and participating experts. 

For participants of the German Global Compact Network the event is free of charge.
