We are in a global crisis that is shaking the very foundations of our society. In addition to health systems, politics and culture, the economy is particularly hard hit. The fragility of global supply chains is evident. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are threatened of their existence if orders and supplies are not received. The focus, resources and priorities of both SMEs and multinationals change. Compliance measures may not be high on the agenda, when the economic existence is at risk. Less control measures and a high level of pressure among business leaders and employees increase the risks of corruption. When institutions and oversight are weak, a breeding ground for corrupt practices emerges.
The survival of businesses now and in the future will depend on how quickly they can adapt to the changing circumstances caused by the pandemic while maintaining business continuity. We therefore want to initiate a discourse on the sustainability, continuity and marketability of companies in the current context.
Keeping this context in mind, the UN Global Compact Network India in partnership with Alliance for Integrity is organising an International Panel Series on the theme 'Shaping a Sustainable Business Post-Covid'. In this series, experts from all around the world and across various sectors will discuss and answer relevant questions related to the creation of more resilient businesses. The second session will focus on “Supply Chain Disruption”.
The international panel discussion will take 90 minutes and will be held on Tuesday, 14 July 2020.
The second panel will be relevant for all actors of the private sector, public sector, civil society, academia and international institutions. The objective is to provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge, experiences and good practices. It will be of further interest to CEOs, Chief Compliance Officers and Executives responsible for broader business integrity issues.
The registration is free of charge.
