The Alliance for Integrity held a training of "Dari Usaha Ke Usaha" (DUKU) (From companies to companies), an adaption of the successful training programme "De Empresas Para Empresas" (DEPE) in Latin America. The exclusive DUKU training featured Florian Lair, Coordinator of the South Asian region at the Alliance for Integrity. The trainings took place at the GIZ Country Office in Jakarta, Indonesia for two consecutive days and was attended by 12 representatives of SMEs.
The training consisted of a “Train-the-Trainer” workshop for compliance officers of larger companies on the first day and a “DUKU" Corruption Prevention Training for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) on the following day. At the Trainers workshop the participants were briefed by Florian Lair about the training material, which is going to be used to train SMEs on the implementation of effective compliance and anti-corruption systems.
On the second day 4 SMEs attended the compliance training conducted by the new trainers. In this session, the trainers from companies with well-established compliance system shared their knowledge with the attending SMEs using the DUKU training material, various practical cases, critical simulations, and personal experiences.
The participants acknowledged the importance of implementing a functioning compliance system based on international standards. Through this training, both, the large enterprises and SMEs, gain useful insights and practical tools to foster compliance and integrity within their companies. Most participants committed to implement the knowledge gained through the training in order to contribute to a clean business environment and equal opportunities for everyone.
