The Alliance for Integrity has held a corruption-prevention workshop at the West and Central African Mining Summit and Expo organised by Magenta Global at the Accra International Conference Centre, Ghana on 25 and 26 September, 2017. The event brought together various major players in the extractive industry in the west and central African sub-regions to learn, innovate and find synergies for growth.

The workshop, dubbed “Anti-Corruption Perspectives for the Private Sector – A Training for CEOs and Senior Executives”, was delivered by Abraham Agbozo, Manager for Compliance and Governance at Newmont Ghana Gold Limited and trainer for the Alliance for Integrity’s Compliance Training for Businesses in Ghana.

The workshop highlighted the types of corruption, sanctions and incentives and the need for top hierarchies of businesses to prevent corruption and also ensure their supply chain partners follow suit.

The Alliance for Integrity also exhibited its corruption-prevention tools and publications and used the opportunity to interact with participants.

Some of the participants expressed satisfaction with the session and offered to register their staff for future training programmes of the Alliance for Integrity.
