Business representatives trained in compliance management in Koforidua

The Alliance for Integrity has held its Compliance Training for Businesses in Koforidua in the Eastern Region of Ghana with the purpose of assisting businesses develop and implement of effective corruption preventive measures.

The training offered participants the opportunity to gain knowledge and practical insights into how to set up compliance management systems and become more competitive by pursuing good corporate governance practices. Participants undertook various hands-on activities including risk assessment and case study discussions. They were also taken through various sanctions and incentives on that can be applied to companies for engaging in corrupt activities or for showing exemplary conduct respectively.

The training was undertaken by Solomon Tettey-Akpeng and Mark Ofori Kwafo both of Ecobank Ghana who have been trainers since August 2016, together with Frank Abdulai Iddrisu of Jospong Group who became trainers following their participation in the Train-the-trainer Workshop in March 2018.

A total of 10 participants from the shipping, financial services, retail and real estate sectors took part in the training.
