Women Enterpreneurs and Professionals Working Group holds Inaugural Meeting in Bandung, West Java

12.08.2017

Bandung, Indonesia

The Alliance for Integrity is linking the topics of gender and compliance in Indonesia. On 12 August, a Women Entrepreneurs and Professionals Working Group was founded in Bandung, West Java. In the inaugural meeting, the women shared their experience with corruption in day-to-day business and set out on the task of finding and implementing practical solutions in order to mitigate risks. The women were joined by Nandini Sharma, Network Manager India, and Claudia Lorek, Regional Manager Asia and Latin America. Both gave additional inputs and provided fruit for thought for potential solutions from other regions. In the coming months, the members of the Women Entrepreneurs and Professionals Working Group will engage in a dialogue, strengthen internal compliance measures in their institutions and seek to find potential solutions to tricky real-life situations that they encounter.

The participants represent the following organisations: Association of Women of Cross Professions (Perhimpunan Perempuan Lintas Profesi Indonesia - PPLIPI), Indonesian Business Women Association Chapter West Java (Ikatan Wanita Pengusaha Indonesia - IWAPI Jabar), Association of Muslim Fashion Designers Chapter West Java (Ikatan Perancang Busana Muslim - IPBM Jabar), and the Association of Female Muslim Fashion Designers West Java Chapter (Ikatan Pengusaha Muslimah Indonesia - IPEMI Jabar).
The creation of the Working Group is a follow-up measure of a training held in June 2017 in cooperation with UNODC. Find more information on the training here.
