The Alliance for Integrity conducted the first corruption prevention training for Brazilian state-owned enterprises. The training, which was organised in cooperation with the General Controllership of the Federal District (CGDF) and was supported by the Government School (EGOV), took place in the country’s capital. The content of the training was an adaptation from our Corruption Prevention Training material - DEPE - “De Empresas para Empresas”, and was modified by the local DEPE trainers group in order to fit the target audience of this training.
The one-day training focused on presenting practical elements to increase the capacity of public companies to implement new and/or improve their existing integrity programmes. The Corruption Prevention Training DEPE – “De Empresas Para Empresas” is one of the Alliance for Integrity's tools in order to achieve the goal of promoting integrity in the economic system
The demand for a specific training for state-owned enterprises shows the importance of sharing knowledge with companies responsible for managing public resources and actively participating in the economy. The promotion of integrity in the public sector encourages good corporate governance practices, a correct management of public resources, helps to mitigate harmful practices and improves competitiveness, efficiency and profitability of all companies.
The training was conducted by Leandro Coutinho, Head of Legal Department in the area of Risk Management and Compliance at BNDES, Lino Gaviolli, Compliance Consultant at Siemens Brazil and Roberta Codignoto, Head of Legal and Compliance for LATAM at Staples. During the training day, the trainers were able to share their expertise and experience to 17 companies that seek to improve their knowledge in integrity measures.
