Alliance for Integrity holds Integrity Dialogue and Compliance Training to Promote Integrity and Compliance

The Alliance for Integrity in cooperation with the National Entrepreneur Network (JAPNAS) Chapter West Java conducted an Integrity Dialogue on the topic of “Strengthening Integrity to Increase Competitiveness of Private Sector in West Java.” The panel was moderated by Iwan Gunawan, Chair of the National Entrepreneurs Network (JAPNAS) Chapter West Java, who was joined by Mohamad Arifin Soedjayana, Head of the Bureau for Economic, Investment and Regional Owned Enterprises facilities at the Provincial Government of West Java, Roro Wide Sulistyowati of the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Agung Suryamal, Chair of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) Chapter West Java, Reza from the National Entrepreneur Network (JAPNAS), and Jeffrey Cheung as a representative from the private sector.

In this panel discussion, Mohamad Arifin Soedjayana elaborated on the provincial government’s recent measures and undertakings such as establishing of a one-stop licensing service to improve transparency and accountability in the public service sector in order to tackle impediments of doing business and to attract new investment. Roro Wide Sulistyowati, representing the KPK provided current updates of the Graft Agency’s latest measures and initiatives regarding corruption prevention in the private sector as well as recent regulatory changes on corporate liability in Indonesia. Whereas Agung Suryamal, Reza and Jeffrey Cheung expressed their views and experiences in daily business and shared the view that compliance and integrity are a necessity for every company in today’s business. They furthermore elaborated on how the private sector needs to adjust to the changing business environment as a result of stricter corporate liability regulation in order to reap the benefits of compliance and business integrity

Following the dialogue, a “Dari Usaha Ke Usaha – DUKU” Compliance Training was held in the afternoon. Participants comprised of representatives of local small and medium enterprises from the City of Bandung and the nearby region. The DUKU training session was facilitated by Nunki Juniarti, CEO of PT Aria Prima Communiline, and Ranny Fathia, Compliance Associate at PT Siemens Indonesia. Both trainers shared their knowledge and experience regarding compliance and anti-corruption with the participants. At the end of the training, participants were also introduced and given copies of the Alliance for Integrity’s No eXcuses Guide.
