Cracking the New Labour Code: MSME Perspectives and Perception

In 2020, the Indian parliament introduced four "Labour Codes", replacing 29 previous laws on Wages, Industrial Relations, Social Security and Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions. The new laws are likely to come into force between 2022 and 2023 and promises to improve social security and wages to workers in the informal sector. Most states have framed rules under the new codes.

Alliance for Integrity, in partnership with Partners for Transparency Foundation India (PTFI) and UN Global Compact Networks India (UNGCNI), is organizing a series of four workshops to look into the implications of the new laws for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Objectives:

1. To sensitize SMEs on the changes to the laws focusing Wages, Industrial Relations, Social Security & Occupational Safety and Health & Working Conditions.
